Hopefully they will have to replace it and go with field turf. A tarp would be an unnecessary investment for astroturf IMO. They just need a snow blowing machine if they wanted to move snow occassionally.

    Doesn't Richlands have field turf?

If so, I don't think the budget would allow for that kind of spending at this point in time. Remeber, we are building a $30 million convocation center, plus all the other construction going on around campus.

As far as I know, Carl Smith's family and Betty Humprey's family gave donations, but I'm not 100% sure if the entire project cost was covered by those donations. I'm would imagine by the donations that at least 90% of it would have been covered.

Yes, Richlands, Honaker and Graham all play on field turf fields. Rumor has it Castlewood may have it in another year as well.

Another question, did Miller contribute funds to Honaker's as I head heard he did, which would only make sense.

Give it another 5-7 years and they will have to overhaul it or even replace it. </div></div>

One more season on the current turf and the plans are to install field turf.

Not worth the investment. How many times in the history of the field were they still playing football when it snowed?

I agree, a few shovels and some backpower will do the trick a lot cheaper.

Field turf is definitely the way to go.

CarolinaBlue, I don't think Miller invested in the field, instead it was the owner of Emats who done both Honaker and Richlands field and has been rumored to be making the same offer to Castlewood.
